Harpur Mount is proud to be a School of Sanctuary, rooted in our strong belief that every child deserves to feel welcomed, valued and safe. We recognise the absolute importance of creating an environment where all pupils, including those who have sought refuge, can thrive, reach their full potential and feel a genuine sense of belonging. Through carefully adapted teaching approaches, we ensure that learning is accessible and inclusive for every child. Our trauma-informed practice underpins all that we do, enabling staff to respond with understanding, sensitivity and care to the experiences of our pupils. In addition, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to celebrate diversity, promote empathy and ensure that refugees and all members of our community feel seen, respected and fully included in school life.
