PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic education. It is an extremely important part of your child's National Curriculum learning. PSHE uniquely aims to develop the whole child; including their knowledge, understanding, skills, strategies, beliefs, values and attributes. PSHE aims to develop the whole child: knowledge and understanding is only one part of this process, we aim to create well-rounded, thriving individuals and members of society that have the skills and strategies to apply to their lives. Our PSHE lessons also positively reinforce content and links with other subjects such as computing and e-safety, Science and Religious Education.
At Oasis Harpur Mount, we strive to ensure our children learn about themselves and relationships in a positive way so that they have the tools to be happy and healthy. Our PSHE curriculum consists of three core themes and is adapted to ensure there is clear progression of knowledge, skills and understanding. The core themes are:
· Health and Wellbeing
· Living in the wider world (Economic Wellbeing and being a responsible citizen)
At Oasis Harpur Mount, our nurturing approach is at the heart of everything we do. Please see our Mental Health and Wellbeing page for more detail on all the positive ways we support our children.
