Art week has been a great success! Across the school children have been exploring a wide range of styles, forms and artists. Nursery have been looking at self-portrait artists while Reception have been looking at the work of Jackson Pollock using colour. Year 1 experimented with mixing colours to create Kandinsky style artwork. Year 2 studied the work of Monet, producing some amazing water colour pieces.
Up in Year 3 they have been looking at art for a purpose - brightening up a section of wall in the playground. The children have studied a range of artist's including Manchester's Kelly Stanford. Year 4 studied William Morris and tried their hand at repeating pattern's. David Hockney and Pablo Picasso were the inspiration for Year 5 who produced some bright and colourful abstract artwork.
Finally Year 6's inspiration came from Turner's landscapes, some amazing boat scenes were the final product.
It has been amazing to see the budding artists in our school, who should all be very proud of their work
